Panasonic New to me LX3

Beautifully said, Kevin, and I admire you. Most of us don't think about the ephemeral nature of our lives until we're faced with something of similar magnitude. I appreciate being reminded. I'm also extremely happy for you about your almost 9 years of being cancer free, your son, your dogs and yours and your wife's academic achievements.:drinks: I'm glad you're part of the SC community.

Thank you and I appreciate the kind words. Unfortunately when you are thrust into situations such as that you don't act out of any higher ideal you simply do what you need to do. Nothing to admire. Glad to be here (in more ways that you can imagine). Too bad emoticon beer has no kick. :D

On a lighter note...

This LX3 is seriously making me reconsider my EPL-1 and assorted lenses. I have spent the better part of a year collecting parts (Pen F 40/1.4, Super tak 50/1.4 SMC. Panasonic 20/1.7 etc.) and I am funding that I prefer using the LX3 as my daily driver. By comparison the EPL-1 with the Panasonic 20 feels HUGE. I know it's not and that Panasonic 20 is a great lens but it's collecting a nice coat of dust on the shelf.

Maybe it's the fun of having new toy but I am finding the LX3 to be a real enjoyable camera to use. I also really like the fact that I can shoot a macro without changing lenses and to my eye the color on the LX3 is better than that of the Olympus.

Kevin, it's easy for me to understand where you're coming from. Small is beautiful and makes it easier for some of us to have it with us. If we don't have our cameras, we can't make pictures.

Your second image is very compelling and not just because of the religious nature - you've taken a great angle of view and the lighting adds to the whole image in a great way.
