A suggestion for a series here on SC - a photograph a month?

:grouphug:

You do mean the Weeklly & Monthly challenges, don't you, Don? Don't worry, I know you're on your iPhoney.

I do solemnly swear to do my best to be a grease monkey.

Do we have a quorum present? Let's see if those so nominated will accept, and if we get anymore Yeas or Nays.:popcorm2:

Sorry folks, you certainly have my attention and happy to help where I can. So what would you like from me?....being a "BOD" sounds good but unfortunately I'm a little lost as to what being a BOD entails? Can't wait to know and also find out if an official badge or a sash is worn while holding such an office.

So you have my complete buy-in - just let me know what I need to do.

Mark, I'll get back to you on some particulars... I am hoping to get a gallery up later and will report in. As for a sash or badge - you can choose whatever you'd like to wear, that's one of the highlights of the Internet unless we develop a forum webcam.:D

Once I am able to set up a gallery, I would think all you'd need to do is start a thread explaining the premise behind the single photo a month idea and link the gallery to the thread. But as I said, I need to get my grease monkeying working a bit better first. I'll send you a PM...and you'll probably be asleep when I do, if I have my time zones straight - which is always questionable!

Thanks BB. I'll opt for the badge publicly and the sash, well......

Look forward to your PM. Please don't be surprised if I reply when you think humans in Australia should be asleep. I do keep some odd times...

Mark, you and Bill are both in Oz. So youse 2 should wear the Wizard of Oz badge.
The good thing is, is that youse 2 fellas share the same time on the clock. Communications will be better.

I will be glad to help curate the Museum show at years end and instigate things for the next year....

Thanks Don.

ITS A DEAL! (y)
...and I assume this means organising the 2013 Calender showcasing the month's winning shots?

I've touched base with Bill via PM. Once BB has sorted out the technical side of things, we'll throw our collective grey matter behind clarifying the 'Challenge'. GO OZ!

I have failed to follow this thread (with or without excitement) but I like it. I'll certainly submit one a month or whatever is agreed to. The Cannon forum on dpreview (which I jumped into when I had an S90 and can't seem to fully pull free of) has a weekly challenge also. And the winner from one weeks picks the topic for the next, but the difference is that whoever picks the topic and starts the challenge is also the sole judge and picker of winners and runners up and the like, and people submit three photos rather than one. Which actually works pretty well. There have been rare occasions where I thought the judge was crazy (even one that I WON with the least favorite of the three photos I submitted that week!), but generally I think everyone enjoys both seeing other people's work and occasionally digging through their archives for something on-point...

WTH? How did I miss this thread? Can I play too? I like the idea of a photo a month. Did I read that we might make a calendar out of it at the end? Count me in.

I'm not sure I understood this fully due to the banter but if it's set out in an idiot proof form I'm sure I'll manage to produce something! Just spell it out for us idiots, well just me probably:redface:

Fear not, Christina! We're working on it "round the clock" if you count the time zones involved.;)

Mark (stillshunter) and Bill from Down Under are bound and determined, as they've got The Con, and will update within the next few days.

Yes, we've been running it for several weeks, defektive and you are just in time for the new one. Rather than make it a monthly thing, it has morphed into The Weekly Challenge. I'm sorry that this thread didn't get updated... I guess we got carried away.

Here is the sticky thread that explains the guidelines for The Weekly Challenge, found in the Image Works forum: https://www.photographerslounge.org/f72/guidelines-weekly-challenge-1698/

The brand new this morning (NY time) challenge has just been posted: https://www.photographerslounge.org/f72/weekly-challenge-13-18-may-2403/ I hope you'll be able to join in!:D
