Just received an email via L-Camera, and thought I'd share the information with some here who might be interested. Probably the best way to find out more is to go to L Camera's Blog: Leica Blog » Application Leica M9 Firmware Testing
Leica is currently preparing new firmware for both the Leica M8 and M9 and in a few days a beta version will be available. This needs to be
tested with all Leica lenses and in all light situations...
Read on for more details and if you end up being involved, please report back to us.(y)

Now, now you two - we have a couple o' Leica shooters here who just might be up for this once they see it. If it's a first come, first served kind of thing the chances are that they're filling up fast, I'd think.

Great, Brian! Besides you here, I know that James, Armando, Deirdre and BillN have Leicas...and probably I'm forgetting someone else.

Please let us know how things work out!

I'm going on vacation soon, so I want my firmware to be as reliable as possible. Not the time to beta test! If it weren't for that, I'd be happy to.

Oh. I have no coded Leica lenses. All my Leica lenses are about as old as I am. So I'm not what they're looking for, sadly. Sigh.

I have the 50mm f/1.1 Voigtlander, but that's a stretch for me to afford.

My newest Leica lens is from the 70s. Oldest is from the early 50s.

I really like this Nokton. How is the focus with yours? I found a little bit of "Tweeking" was required for close-up and wide-open on the M8. It back-focused slightly, I put a layer of copper tape on the RF cam to correct it.

Let me know, this is an easy fix.
