Fuji Really Right Stuff L-Plate For My X-E1

I have the RRS plate/grip too but not the L part, I have a RRS L plate for my D800 but I don't shoot the X-E1 on a tripod that much and since it's light if I do put it on a tripod it's less likely too slip than a D800 with heavy lens. I am liking the plate/grip more than I though especially good...

Fuji X-M1 vs Sony Nex 6 - a user comparison

Ray, Our trip was really great, but very quick. We even had a great lunch at La Tagliata outside Positano which I know you too enjoyed, that was our best meal of the vacation! Our guide brought our small group there on our Naples excursion day (Sorrento, Positano and Pompeii) and we didn't know...

Fuji X-M1 vs Sony Nex 6 - a user comparison

Thanks Ray! I was using the XM-1 as a second body the past two weeks in Europe. I think the best thing would be a combo of the XE-1 and XM-1 with the grip of the NEX-6. Shooting without a viewfinder can be difficult in bright conditions, it's hard for longer lenses too. Probably a better...

Fuji DSLR traveler going with X system to Europe

Yes I will play around with the M-X1 before I go or on the plane, I've got it out of the camera out of the box and set up. I have downloaded the manual and will copy it to my iPad. It is amazing what fits into the Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 30i. Yesterday I had the X-E1 with RRS Grip, 18-55...

Fuji DSLR traveler going with X system to Europe

I usually travel with my DSLR (or 2), a Nikon D800 and the trinity of big 2.8 lenses plus a few more and small lighting gear and a large tripod to support it at times. This time I'm going mirrorless and mostly Fuji X. I've had the X-Pro1 since the day it came out (right before Easter 2012) but...

Nikon Nikon Rethinking the 1 Series (DPR cross-post)

Both Nikon and Canon developed poorly designed mirrorless cameras because they are trying to protect their strong DSLR sales. Sony, Fujifilm, Samsung, Olympus and Panasonic created better designed and more well thought out cameras and systems.

Sony Had a goal of getting a Leica M240 in a couple of years but now...

I don't think you could say with certainty any image couldn't be taken with a specific camera for sure except perhaps a Noctilux for it's shallow DOF and bokeh characteristics. While the image above is sharp but sharp images can be made with many cameras and might have more to do with being on a...

Sony Had a goal of getting a Leica M240 in a couple of years but now...

I'm about to sell my M9 and M lenses. I have always had a like/not like (soft love/hate) relationship with the 4 or so Leica M's I've had since the early 90's. I am usually happier with the images I get with the XPro1 and XE1 as well as the RX1. The first two I had were M6 at different periods...

Sony EVF for RX1 - Second Thoughts

As one who needs reading glasses but not glasses for distance the EVF is important for me because I can't focus on the back of the camera without my glasses. If I didn't have this issue it wouldn't be important though being able to tilt the EVF viewfinder up and look down into it works well...

    The science of G.A.S

I have family photos of when I was a toddler I would make a circle of my books and toys go sit in the middle of them and look at them and pick one or another. I still sort of do that with my books and cameras (I don't think I make a circle though). I guess it's my character flaw but I'm okay...

I think I'm bored with mirrorless systems

Mirrorless, isn't great for everything. I love the image quality of my Nikon D800 but I don't love carrying it and several lenses around. I have always liked small cameras even going back to the film days (I had Contax T, Ricoh GR and even the little Rollie 35 back it the day) I'm not getting...

Nikon Nikon 1 V1 vs. Sony NEX 5R

I think the NEX6 with 16-50 (6 has a viewfinder) is $799 at B&H and Adorama you get a nice kit too. I would rather have that than either of the others.
