Ricoh Random thought: would you buy a Sigma Foveon Lensor for the GXR system?

I too own a DP2, Ricoh GRD III and GXR 50mm and would feel that the combination of Foveon Sensor and GXR body would be amazing, still nothing beats that Foveon sensor, I took my DP2 out for a walk yesterday after it has been sitting in a draw my eyes couldn't believe the results, so sharp and 3D...

Ricoh Ricoh GXR with 50mm Prime Settings

If anybody is using this setup could they share with me some ideal manual set ups for handheld sunny/cloudy day shots of scenery and buildings in colour. I can get some pretty good indoor shots and tripod shots but handheld I am struggling to get a decent balance. Most of the time it seems out...

Have I just done the wrong thing?

Update... The GXR and P10 has arrived, had a quick play and it is great, the 50mm lens works a treat, cannot wait to try it out. But guess what there was no lens cap in the box for the P10, what is the chances, typical. Now to find a lens cap for this 50mm anyone know where I can pick one up...

Have I just done the wrong thing?

Thanks again for helping me out and Bill that is so kind of you but I think it maybe best I buy the body myself in the next couple of days to put my mind at rest. There is a body and P10 kit available at the moment for 339GBP, I messaged the seller and he has said I can have it for Tuesday if I...

Have I just done the wrong thing?

Sadly no returns I have been informed unless lens doesn't work (which I don't know if it does). Ahh thanks Streetshooter but sadly I am in the UK. Hmm gonna have to put my thinking cap on.

Have I just done the wrong thing?

Came up with a great idea to afford my Ricoh GXR with 50mm lens. A lens appeared on (auction site) at a fairly reasonable price so I decided to buy this and ask for the GXR Body for Christmas/Birthday off all my family, all good. I have just received the lens today in the post, it turned up in...

    Ricoh GXR a few Questions

Another question, regarding manual focus when using the P10 module, the manual focus zoomed up the centre portion of the lcd think 4x but the image was so pixelated that it was unusuable to focus with. This was last year, does anyone if this problem has been resolved in a firmware or should I...

    Ricoh GXR a few Questions

Another clone of the Panasonic GF that Samsung, very much dislike, I wished all cameras had dials and switches. Certainly feel at the price of the X100 I would want more than a 1 year warranty incase of any hiccups and also with a non transferable warranty for 2nd hand cameras, it is putting...

    Ricoh GXR a few Questions

Thanks for the replies, I just noticed here in the UK this very week quite a few X100 going up for sale 2nd hand so thought about picking one up but then read about this blade problem and thought hmm wonder if the warranty would transfer to a new user. Then suddenly I noticed a shop nearby has...

    Ricoh GXR a few Questions

A few question about the GXR with the 50mm lens. Has anyone seen dust on the sensor, I have seen a couple of people say this has happened which is highly annoying as my GRD 3 hasn't had this issue and thought it was resolved. Is the camera pocketable in a coat pocket? I had the GXR with...

    Fuji X100 - Is it a keeper?

The camera has to be the whole package in that it is enjoyable out and about and at home, my Sigma DP-2 is amazing to get back home and see the images come alive but out and about I can be seen screaming.

    Fuji X100 - Is it a keeper?

I must admit I am keeping a close eye on this thread. I have tried not to look at this camera because of the price, anything usually for me over £500 is a no no. But..... having that thought I own 3 decent cameras, a Ricoh GRD III, Sigma DP2 and a newly acquired Panasonic GF-2 with 14mm and...

Ricoh Ricoh GRD III Lens Ring

No luck I am afraid. Tried Clifton cameras here in the UK, shame they dont sell them either but they do sell the gold ring GRD III and the black ring is left in the box.

Ricoh Ricoh GRD III Lens Ring

This weekend past I picked up my trusty GRD III to take with me on a trip, but as I picked it up I noticed the lens ring cover was missing, I thought oh it must be in the bag but no. I have hunted high and low but to no luck. So I emailed Ricoh who haven't replied re a replacement. Now what I...

Anyone have opinions on the GX200

Certainly are in the same boat, for me 4 years and nothing has improved on that Foveon sensor, I just love the images. My Ricoh will be black and White street the other Sigmas everything else. I am tempted to get the Sigma flash as it's not too expensive, also it's TTL (the only TTL for...

Anyone have opinions on the GX200

Stillshunter - I am looking for any of the DP1 series. I took my DP2, Ricoh GXR P10 and Ricoh GRD III out on the same shoot, I came to the conclusion I preferred the images on the DP2 way more than the others camera, but I preferred the wide angle of the GRD III. I then thought right I am now...

Anyone have opinions on the GX200

Oh that's not good, in the UK you can easily pick up a DP1 2nd hand but 2nd hand DP1s and DP1x are more tricky, which is what I am after. Hope you find one.

Anyone have opinions on the GX200

Good choice, infact after shooting with my Ricoh GXR P10 and Sigma DP2, think I will opt for a DP1 to companion the Dp2 and sell the GXR, it's world aparts from small sensors in my eyes. If you can yield good pictures from the DP2s then your winning the battle, get the DP1 too ;)

Anyone have opinions on the GX200

Hi, I have owned an Ricoh GX200, Canon S90, Lumix LX3 and now own a Ricoh GRD III. If you are after a back pocket camera then the Canon S series and Ricoh GRD series really only fit the bill as the others have lenses protruding thus making them a carry in hand camera. Ok so image quality...

    Hello from the United Kingdom

Ha yep I probably have had more cameras than taken pictures :/ If I take the car all the cameras come with me if I travel by train/walk then just the one, but if I know where I am going before hand then take which would suit that event. Just need to get out and use them.... never enough time...

    Hello from the United Kingdom

Having now played with both my Ricoh GXR P10 and Sony Nex-5 I have come to the conclusion that I prefer the Ricoh so much more than the Sony, not that the Sony is bad but it was just that little too big to just grab as you left the house and walk about with. The Ricoh although still fairly hefty...

    Hello from the United Kingdom

Thanks for the welcomes very nice bunch of people here, I take onboard what you have commented about sticking with the camera instead of passing it on, that is something I must learn to do. Think mainly there has never been my ideal camera but hoping the GXR may be a step closer if only I could...

    Hello from the United Kingdom

Hello my name is Ash, it's good to come across a site devoted to compact cameras where there is a wealth of experienced users to gain information from. I have to hold my hand up here that I am a terrible photographer, I know a fair bit about the cameras but when it comes to shooting I never...
