Ethiopian girls taking the alleys of the historic Phoenician city of Batroun by a storm.
Working in the country mainly as home assistants, they take their Sundays off and gather at a nearby medieval church to rehearse their choral and assist a special mass.
me and a friend of mine who were at that city for a leica M 240 / XVario shoot, was so lucky to have our way crossed with those lovely girls.
    hope you'll enjoy the pictures.

These are captivating images. Colors are bold and compositions are well-considered. I like it when facial expressions are so accessible.

It's hardly believable but I'm getting close to get convinced that the form factor of a camera has a huge impact on the subject and so, the Leica excels for its tiny not imposing design. subjects taken with Leica look more at ease and relaxed than subjects I've taken with my DSLR!
The second, and probably, the most important factor would be the photographer itself, the way he looks, his eyes his aura also make the big difference.
I'm still shy when it comes to photographing people, but those who I dared to photograph so far ended up collaborating with me :)
Ah, almost forgot to mention one more of my findings. The use of an EVF in vertical mode is an impressive Stress-Relief-Device.

Nicely done! Looks like you were having fun getting the shots too. :)

A couple of the shots appear "on the move." How did you approach focus for those? I.e., automatic or zone focus?

    Thanks C.
On the move shots were done using AF set to 1 point focus zone. I almost never miss a shot using this AF method !
