Amedeo sent me one of his new M adapters for the 50mm Prominent lenses, and I used it with the Nokton 50/1.5 on the M8. The images are low contrast when they are viewed before any PS at all. I added a small amount of contrast. but this is all. I find this lens to be very useful for portraits. I know that my wife likes her photos with his lens. Dana and Lina were my two models, as usual. I noticed also a color shift toward purple with this lens. With PS it is easy to slightly adjust.

Amedeo's adapter is very made and it is not heavy.

I see a 3 D effect in the images that were taken with the vintage Nokton. The modern (new) version Nokton is also superb in other ways. I am glad that Amedeo decided to create such an adapter. I am being reminded of my old Zeiss Sonnar 50/1.5.

    Hi Brian,
You are correct. Lina has grown a lot from a "little kid" to a girl of average height.
    See you soon!

Thank you, Dave. I took the Gulf Coast beach photos shortly before sunset started. The light was very nice then.

Your daughters are very cute, and is it just me, or does that lens render an awful lot like a Sonnar?

The 50/1.5 Nokton for the Prominent: a Planar type lens, 7 elements in 5 groups, lower contrast and "low-key" swirly Bokeh. sharpness, on par with the 1950s Summicrons, sharper than the Summarit.

I will add that the lens is built very well. Many claim it s better than most 50mm lenses of its time. This may be a great lens for B&W images.

The bokeh is what made me think it might be Sonnar-like. Look at the red rug above the white stuffed bear.

I am now trying out the lens for B&W images. I removed all colors, followed by adding some grain and softness.
All images were taken at aperture 1.5.

This lens was designed for B&W images, and there is a color shift or cast in the indoors images. It gives me pleasing pastel colors outdoors.

    Thanks.

Yesterday, I placed the vintage Nokton on the Olympus EP2 (4/3 camera) to see how this lens does as a portrait lens, with perspective of a 100mm lens.
