    Do you use one?

If yes, which one do you prefer and why?

My favorite of all time is the Nikon AR-1 soft release that can be used on Nikon Rangefinders, the F, F2, and Nikkormats. It is concave.

It also works with Barnack Leicas, but sadly: not the M series. I use a "Mushroom Cap" on the M8, none on the M9 and M Monochrom.

because i like to wrap my finger over it, kinda like putting your finger on a gun trigger, and squeeze to shoot

Convex b/c I like the groove. I actually wasn't using it that much until i read on another forum how dirt can end up cause problems.

I'd never used one on the Leica (had the Nikon when I used a Photomic:). Seeing this thread revived my periodic looking (the cool ones from Tom Abrahamson on rangefinderforum are always out of stock), and I got a cheap $3+ one from ebay to try. I like it! Convex is the way...
